Computer requirements
Mitchell Hamline students are not required to have a computer; however, most students find it useful to have a laptop computer. Recommended minimum and optimum laptop computer configurations can be found here:
The technical support staff at Mitchell Hamline is certified to repair Dell laptops within their original or extended warranty cycle. There is no charge for this service and is a great way to get full service for your laptop without the frustration and inconvenience associated with help desk phone lines. To use this service, purchase a Dell laptop with a warranty using the link above. Please feel free to design your own configuration based on the minimum and optimum configurations above.
Please note that our technicians can only repair hardware that is a part of the laptop itself. This excludes batteries, power adapters, docks, port replicators, and any external hardware. In these cases, you will be advised to call Dell directly for replacement or repair of the component.
E-mail account
On-campus students will receive a Mitchell Hamline e-mail account when you are on campus in August for orientation. Blended-learning students will receive a Mitchell Hamline e-mail account in July in order to access online orientation.
Lockers
Lockers can be rented on a first-come, first-served basis for $40 per academic year (and $10 for summer). Students must provide their own lock. The fee will be applied to your student account. You can choose to pay via Cashnet or check/cash (similar to tuition and other fee payments).
Please contact parking.lockers@mitchellhamline.edu for information about locker rental. Fill out this locker request form to request a locker.
Parking permits
Students who desire to park in the MHSL parking lots during the 2024-2025 academic year must apply for a permit. All students are eligible to apply.
The fee for a permit is $50.00 for the academic year and covers 1 vehicle with proof of ownership. Possession of a MHSL parking permit does not guarantee the permit holder a parking space; it merely guarantees your right to seek, and park in, an available spot in accordance with the MHSL parking policies.
Parking permits will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. To request a parking permit, please complete and submit this parking permit application to the Finance office no later than July 26, 2024, if you wish to pick up your pass starting on August 11th. Email the complete application to: parking.lockers@mitchellhamline.edu.
Note: Please complete the vehicle information on the bottom portion of the application as well as name and address information on top. Also, be sure to read the parking policy in the Law School Catalog, as the rules will be strictly enforced. Applications will not be processed without full vehicle and license plate information.
The $50.00 parking fee will be applied to your student account. You can choose to pay via Cashnet or check/cash (similar to tuition and other fee payments).
Permits will be available for pickup at the main Security desk starting on August 11th.
If you misplace your parking pass, you will receive 1 replacement pass for free. If you request to have more than one pass replaced, you will be charged for every pass after the first replacement.
Blended Students: While on-campus for Preparation Session and Capstone Week, you can park in the Summit Lot for free. You will need to display a Blended Parking Pass on your dashboard. We will have copies of the parking pass printed and available when you arrive for Prep Week.
If you are a local Blended student and want to park in MHSL parking lots during times beyond Prep and Capstone weeks, you must apply for the permit above.
