Lanterman, Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Minnetonka, Minnesota-based Computer Forensic Services and former U.S. Secret Service investigator, has more than 25 years of experience in computer forensic investigations. Prior to starting CFS, he was a sworn investigator for the U.S. Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force and acted as its computer forensic analyst. Lanterman has successfully led thousands of computer forensic investigations and provided expert witness testimony in more than 2,000 proceedings. He is a sought-after speaker in the United States and abroad and provides frequent commentary on cybersecurity issues for national media including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, BusinessWeek, Al Jazeera, and NPR.
Additionally, Lanterman is an adjunct faculty lecturer of computer science for the University of Minnesota’s Technological Leadership Institute and is currently teaching in the Master of Science Security Technologies (MSST) program.
Lanterman earned a B.S. and M.S. in computer science from Upsala College.
