Wallace-Lerner Excellence in Leadership Award

Each year at our Banquet, Mitchell Hamline Law Review honors two outstanding alumni with the Wallace-Lerner Excellence in Leadership Award.

When Mitchell Hamline School of Law was formed in 2015 through the merger of William Mitchell College of Law and Hamline University School of Law, the newly-merged Law Review sought to honor alumni from both schools with the creation of the Wallace-Lerner Excellence in Leadership Award. This award is a combination of the pre-existing Marcy Wallace Award, named after the first editor-in-chief of the William Mitchell Law Review who graduated in 1974, and a newly created award named after Gwen Lerner, the first editor-in-chief of the Hamline Law Review who graduated in 1978.
