Michael R. Gallagher died on June 1st, 2017, after a short illness. He was born on December 4, 1930, in Waseca, the youngest child of Justice Frank Gallagher and Belle Gallagher. Michael served in the Air Force for 4 years during the cold war era. After military service, he graduated from William Mitchell College of Law. He specialized in local government law with the Attorney General for his entire career. He loved classical music, taking long walks, donuts, outings with friends and family, the State Fair, travel, and “solving the world’s problems” over a meal and a cup of coffee. Our Uncle Mickey was a man of deep faith, boundless curiosity, understated humor, and extraordinary kindness. Uncle Mickey touched all of our lives. His generosity and kindness were given in equal measure to friends and family. We are the better for having known and been loved by him.
