Adjunct/Affiliated Professor
Ken Mitchell-Phillips regularly teaches business law courses at Oregon State University and Washington State University. He has taught business law courses online, face-to-face, and hybrid formats for 14 years. In addition, he worked as a business transactional lawyer for 13 years. Most recently he worked as the owner of The Law Offices of Ken Mitchell-Phillips operating in Oregon and Washington and providing business transactional, real estate, civil litigation, and estate planning legal services to businesses ranging from start-ups and emerging small businesses to Fortune 500 companies in the Pacific Northwest.
He has served as general counsel, V.P. of human resources, chief compliance officer, and corporate secretary at Portland-based NxSystems, with offices in Canada, Ireland, and the U.K. NxSystems is a provider of global electronic payment solutions. He started his career working as a business transactional attorney at Davis Wright Tremaine where he specialized in corporate law, including corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities, corporate governance and compliance, and real estate transactions.
He earned his J.D. from Lewis and Clark Law School in 2006 and a master of science degree in business from Troy State University in 1996.
