Bridget Sabo is an Assistant State Public Defender in the Office of the Minnesota Appellate Public Defender. She handles direct appeals to the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the Minnesota Supreme Court, and post-conviction matters in the district and appellate courts. During a leave from her work as an Appellate Public Defender, Ms. Sabo worked with the Minnesota Innocence Project investigating claims of actual innocence for clients whose cases did not involve DNA evidence. She was the lead attorney in the litigation that resulted in the exoneration of Michael Hansen, a man wrongfully accused of killing his infant daughter.
Before joining the public defender, Ms. Sabo worked briefly as a civil litigator in private practice. She currently provides pro bono representation to clients through the Children’s Law Center and Volunteer Lawyers Network.
