Law was a second career for Ellen G. Sampson, and she worked full-time while attending law school at night. After law school she joined the Pepin Dayton Herman and Graham Law firm which merged with Leonard Street and Deinard (now Stinson Leonard Street). Ellen was a partner at the firm for many years, retiring in 2017. She practiced in the areas of labor and employment law, government relations, and alternative dispute resolution. She was routinely named a Super Lawyer, Best Lawyer in America, and a best lawyer for business by Chambers. She served on the firm board of directions and as co-chair of the firm’s pro bono and diversity committees. She was chair of the governing council of the labor and employment law section of the Minnesota State Bar Association and received its Leonard Lindquist Award. Ellen works as a mediator and volunteers in various community activities.
