Rice has worked in both the private sector and academia in cybersecurity roles. He ran a Fortune 25 company’s IT security awareness and training program and currently teaches courses covering IT security policy and risk management at the undergraduate and graduate level at St. Cloud State University, where he is currently an Instructor in the Information Systems Department. He has published numerous works covering various topics concerning cybersecurity and data usage.
Rice is an active member of both ISACA and ISSA in the Twin Cities and works to develop internship opportunities for students in cybersecurity roles. Erich earned a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law (a predecessor school of Mitchell Hamline School of Law) as well as a Master of Science in Information Assurance degree from St. Cloud State University.
Rice teaches in the Cybersecurity and Privacy Law Certificate Program at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
