Roger Behrens serves as the real property specialist for the State of Minnesota, where he represents State of Minnesota and its agencies in real estate transactions. Roger negotiates and drafts purchase agreements, leases, easements, deeds, and other real estate legal documents for the State. He also negotiates rent rates for the state in its leasing matters and conducts due diligence analysis for the State in its real property acquisitions. Roger is also an adjunct professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law where he teaches Commercial Leasing and Real Estate Transactions.
Prior to joining the State of Minnesota, Roger served as in-house counsel for TOLD Development Company. Before joining TOLD, Roger served as counsel and underwriting attorney for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company for the company’s Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin operations. Prior to his work at Old Republic, Roger was an associate at Faegre & Benson where he practiced commercial transactional real estate.
Roger received his B.A. degree from Carleton College in 1996 and his J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1999. Roger is also a volunteer tax preparer for Accountability Minnesota/Volunteer Income Tax Assistance where he completes federal and state tax returns for low income families.
