There are two mock trial competitions available through Mitchell Hamline: AAJ & TYLA.<\/p>\n
The Student Trial Advocacy Competition (STAC)<\/a> is hosted by the American Association for Justice (AAJ). Regional rounds typically take place in March & National rounds follow in April.<\/p>\n Deadline for applications is September TBA, 2025<\/strong>.\u00a0 Tryouts are to be determined.\u00a0 No pre-requisites required.\u00a0 Advocacy class and\/or undergraduate mock trial preferred.<\/p>\n Send an email stating: (1)\u00a0 why you would like to tryout for mock trial; (2) any experience in mock trial or theater; and (3) your year and whether you are local or remote to Judge Cynthia McCollum at cynthia.mccollum@courts.state.mn.us<\/a> by September TBA, 2024.\u00a0 <\/strong>Applicants will then receive a file, which they will use to prepare an opening statement and cross-examination of a witness as part of the try-out process.<\/p>\n There will be two MHSL teams and all travel expenses are covered by MHSL.\u00a0 Students earn credit for participating.<\/p>\n Participation is worth two (2) credits per competition.\u00a0 Students must log 90 hours on practice and competitions to earn two credits.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" There are two mock trial competitions available through Mitchell Hamline: AAJ & TYLA.
