{"id":3730,"date":"2025-01-08T15:29:31","date_gmt":"2025-01-08T21:29:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.edu\/disability-services\/?page_id=3730"},"modified":"2026-07-23T10:16:44","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T15:16:44","slug":"documentation-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.edu\/disability-services\/documentation-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Documentation Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Disability Services team will engage in an interactive process to document a student&#8217;s accommodation needs and to establish any reasonable accommodations at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.<\/p>\n<div class=\"introduction-wrapper\">Disability Services will accept the following forms of documentation as sufficient to engage in the interactive process, explore and establish reasonable accommodation:<\/div>\n<ul class=\"default\">\n<li>a prior Individualized Education Plan (IEP)<\/li>\n<li>documentation of prior services or accommodation under a section 504 plan<\/li>\n<li>records from a private school, local educational agency (i.e. school district), or state educational agency (i.e. Department of Education)<\/li>\n<li>a plan or record from a previous institution of higher education provided under the<br \/>\nAmericans with Disabilities Act or its amendments<\/li>\n<li>a military record of disability<\/li>\n<li>a record, evaluation, or additional information from a qualified health professional<\/li>\n<li>Disability Services may also accept a student&#8217;s self-report as a form of documentation for provisional support,<br \/>\nand request additional third-party documentation to determine the disability-related need for permanent accommodation(s).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>MPRE and Bar Exam Documentation Guidelines<\/h2>\n<p>It is important to note that <strong>the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE), and the state bar examination, have separate documentation guidelines and processes for testing accommodations<\/strong>. We encourage students to review the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbex.org\/exams\/mpre\/test-accommodations\/medical-documentation-guidelines-mpre-test-accommodations\">Medical Documentation Guidelines for MPRE Test Accommodations<\/a> to prepare for the MPRE, and to check each state&#8217;s guidelines for requesting testing accommodations on the bar exam.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Disability Services team will engage in an interactive process to document a student&#8217;s accommodation needs and to establish any reasonable accommodations at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
