Mitchell Hamline\u2019s Center for Law and Business provides students with the knowledge, skills, and experience they need to succeed as business leaders, business lawyers, and entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Now is the time to advance Mitchell Hamline&#8217;s\u00a0Center for Law and Business to regional and national standing. The Center for Law and Business has already achieved the following:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"default\">\n<li><strong><strong>Certificate in Law and Business.\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>25 new attorneys have\u00a0earned the Law and Business Certification since it was introduced in 2013, the majority of whom are either working in business law or business-related fields.\u00a055 students are currently working toward earning the Law and Business Certificate<\/li>\n<li><strong>New Certificates. <\/strong>Mitchell Hamline will be offering students additional certificates in<strong>\u00a0Banking Regulation and Health Law Compliance.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Expanded Academic Program<\/strong>. The Center offers more than 24 classes in business and entrepreneurial areas, including a\u00a0highly successful\u00a0Business Enterprise course that walks students through the process of becoming business entrepreneurs. The course culminates each semester in a \u201cShark Tank\u201d event, featuring students pitching their business plans before a panel of seasoned venture capitalists.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Event programming<\/strong> every academic semester on hot topics and career opportunities in business and law.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Externship program<\/strong> that annually provides 30 students with opportunity to gain practical business and legal experience at Twin Cities law firms and corporations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mentorship program<\/strong> that annually matches more than 25 Law and Business Certificate students with professionals working in the student\u2019s area of interest in law and business.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>&#8220;First-Ever&#8221; Opportunity<\/h2>\n<p>Through Mitchell Hamline\u2019s Hybrid J.D. Program, the Center for Law and Business has a unique \u201cfirst-ever\u201d opportunity to dramatically expand its reach to students throughout the country. In 2017, the Law and Business certificate program will be available to Hybrid Program students, 85 percent of whom live and work outside of Minnesota.<\/p>\n<h2>Financial Support is Critical<\/h2>\n<p>To continue developing the Center for Law and Business and benefit from\u00a0this first-to-market advantage, financial support is necessary.
