Legally Disposing of E-Cigarettes and Nicotine Products\u201d in a webinar sponsored by the Center that also featured speakers from the EPA, Boulder County, Colorado, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. <\/p>\n Professor David Allen Larson participated in the ThinkTech Hawaii video panel, “Spring Festival Special Edition” addressing the cultural significance of the Chinese New Year and how Covid-19 has affected the celebration of that family-oriented holiday, which is the time when more Chinese travel than any other time. The panel explored how technology has allowed us to adapt our holiday celebrations and which of those adaptations will last beyond the pandemic. The panel also discussed how the pandemic has accelerated the adoption of online dispute resolution (ODR). Professor David Allen Larson made a one-hour presentation to more than 100 attorneys at the Minnesota Public Employers Labor Relations Association Winter Conference. In the presentation, he explained online dispute resolution (ODR), introduced the audience to currently available ODR platforms, and described how ODR can assist with collective bargaining and workplace grievance processing.<\/p>\n Professor David Allen Larson participated in a one-hour panel discussion with Mike Stockstead, Deputy Commissioner of the Bureau of Mediation Services and Alison Kelly, Labor Relations for Ramsey County at the Minnesota Public Employers Labor Relations Association Winter Conference. The panel discussed challenges and best practices for virtual labor relations alternative dispute resolution.<\/p>\n Professor David Allen Larson presented “ADA Workplace Accommodations: Managing the Maze,” at the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution Mid-Year Conference. Professor Larson made the presentation with HR professional Sheryl Ellis.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Natasha Phelps of the Public Health Law Center gave virtual presentations that discussed the components, trends, and litigation issues of flavored tobacco sales regulations as part of online events hosted by Tobacco-Free CCA New York on February 8 and 22.<\/p>\n Natasha Phelps of the Public Health Law Center was a guest on The Center for Black Health & Equity’s Black Body Health Podcast discussing Big Tobacco’s predatory practices and promotions affecting the Black community. Natasha Phelps of the Public Health Law Center virtually presented \u201cInternational Tools for Local Change: Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and Menthol\u201d at an online event hosted by Action on Smoking and Health.<\/p>\n Natasha Phelps of the Public Health Law Center presented on the topic of the components, trends, and litigation issues of flavored tobacco sales regulations at an online event hosted by the Colorado School of Public Health.<\/p>\n Natasha Phelps of the Public Health Law Center gave a virtual presentation on the importance of effective and equitable commercial tobacco-free worksite policy, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic to the FloridaHealth Miami-Dade County Tobacco-Free Workspace Summit.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Melanie Plucinski of the Public Health Law Center gave a virtual presentation hosted by Mitchell Hamline School of Law, Indian Law Clinic – Tribal Code Drafting about policy development in Tribal communities.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Professor Thaddeus Pope was quoted in the February 1, Medical Ethics Advisors story, “Policy on Inappropriate Treatment Used in 25% of Ethics Consults.” Professor Thaddeus Pope was quoted in the February 1, JD Supra article, “When End-of-Life Wishes Get Ignored, Courts See Another Kind of Malpractice.” Professor Thaddeus Pope was quoted in the February 1, Medical Ethics Advisor article, “Policy on Inappropriate Treatment Used in 25% of Ethics Consults.” Professor Thaddeus Pope’s article, “One Giant Leap for MAID\u201d was published in the Winter 2021 issue of the Final Exit Network Newsletter.<\/p>\n Professor Thaddeus Pope has joined the Authorship Committee for the International Donation and Transplantation Legislative and Policy Forum. The purpose of the IDTLP Forum is to create expert, consensus guidance for stakeholders who aspire to link evidence and ethical concepts to legislative and policy reform of organ and tissue donation and transplantation (OTDT) systems. The project is co-hosted by Transplant Qu\u00e9bec, Canadian Donation and Transplantation Research Program, and Canadian Blood Services.<\/p>\n Professor Thaddeus Pope has been invited by the Uniform Law Commission to join the Drafting Committee for the Uniform Health Care Decisions Act.
