Professor Janus was on the organizing committee for the conference that was held December 10 in Ankara Turkey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AMICUS BRIEF: 12\/22\/2021 Amicus Brief &#8211; Minnesota Supreme Court<\/strong><br \/>\nProfessor Eric Janus and Madeline Ranum drafted and submitted an amicus brief in support of Appellants in Ricky Lee McDeid and Shane P. Garry v. Johnston, et al., Nos. A21-0042, A21-0043, before the Minnesota Supreme Court. This amicus brief was in collaboration with Michael H. Miner, Ph.D., L.P., Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health and Research Director for the Institute for Sexual and Gender Health at the University of Minnesota, who signed on as an amicus.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Larson, David<\/h3>\n<p><strong>MEDIA: 12\/9\/2021 ThinkTech Hawaii<\/strong><br \/>\nProfessor David Allen Larson was a guest on the December 9, 2021 ThinkTech Hawaii videocast, \u201cStories to End the Year Together (The Rule of Law in the New Abnormal).\u201d Professor Larson was joined in the discussion by University of Dayton Professor of Law Emeritus Vernellia Randall and University of Toledo Professor of Law Emeritus Bejamin Davis.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2FqTUnJMYCw\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2FqTUnJMYCw<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>PRESENTATION: 12\/17\/2021 &#8220;ODR Can Expand or Reduce Access to Justice&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\nProfessor David Allen Larson was a guest of honor at the First International Conference on Emerging Issues in Business and Economic Research sponsored by Rajdhani College, University of Delhi (India). At the conference, Professor Larson presented &#8220;ODR Can Expand or Reduce Access to Justice.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Pope, Thaddeus<\/h3>\n<p><strong>PRESENTATION: 12\/1\/2021 &#8220;California S.B. 380: A Clinical Perspective&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\nProfessor Thaddeus Pope, along with four MAID physicians, presented &#8220;California S.B. 380: A Clinical Perspective&#8221; to the American Clinicians Academy on Medical Aid in Dying on December 1, 2021.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PUBLICATION: 12\/15\/2021 Canadian Journal of Bioethics<\/strong><br \/>\nProfessor Thaddeus Pope&#8217;s article, &#8220;Medical Aid in Dying and Dementia Directives&#8221; was published in volume 4(2) of the Canadian Journal of Bioethics (2021).<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.erudit.org\/en\/journals\/bioethics\/2021-v4-n2-bioethics06607\/1084454ar.pdf\">https:\/\/www.erudit.org\/en\/journals\/bioethics\/2021-v4-n2-bioethics06607\/1084454ar.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>PUBLICATION: 12\/15\/2021 International Perspectives on End of Life Reform: Politics, Persuasion, and Persistence<\/strong><br \/>\nProfessor Thaddeus Pope&#8217;s chapter, &#8220;International Perspectives on Reforming End-of-Life Law&#8221; was included in the recently published Cambridge University Press book, International Perspectives on End of Life Reform: Politics, Persuasion, and Persistence edited by Ben White and Lindy Wilmott. The chapter was co-written with several other authors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PUBLICATION: 12\/15\/2021 The Right to Die: The Law of End-of-Life Decisionmaking<\/strong><br \/>\nProfessor Thaddeus Pope completed the semi-annual update to the treatise, The Right to Die: The Law of End-of-Life Decisionmaking published by Wolters Kluwer Law &amp; Business. The book and updates are co-authored by Alan Meisel and Kathy L.
