At the convening, Professor Janus presented on the topic: What we can learn from constitutional litigation about civil commitment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OTHER: 11\/15\/2023 Vital Projects Fund Grant<\/strong><br \/>\nProfessor Eric Janus announced that the school has received a grant of $246,000 from the Vital Projects Fund to support the Sex Offense Litigation and Policy Resource Center. Established in 2017, the Center is entirely grant funded, having received over $1.2 million in support. The Center\u2019s mission is to provide support for lawyers and social scientists nationwide who are engaged in impact litigation and policy reform work addressing so-called regulatory laws imposing liberty-restraints post-sentence for people with past convictions for sex offenses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRESENTATION: 11\/17\/2023 \u201cConfronting Minnesota\u2019s Sex Offense Civil Commitment Scheme: Moving Away from Fear-based Policies, Toward Effective Community Violence Prevention\u201d<\/strong> Professor Eric Janus, along with Pete Dross, Vice President of External Relations, The Center for Victims of Torture presented \u201cConfronting Minnesota\u2019s Sex Offense Civil Commitment Scheme: Moving Away from Fearbased Policies, Toward Effective Community Violence Prevention\u201d at the Minnesota Re-Imagining Justice Conference held on November 17, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Larson, David<\/h3>\n<p><strong>PRESENTATION: 11\/27\/2023 &#8220;Designing a Disability Accessible Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) System<\/strong><br \/>\nProfessor David Allen Larson virtually presented &#8220;Designing a Disability Accessible Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) System\u201d to the European Union Cyberspace Conference ODR Track held at Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic on November 27, 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OTHER: 11\/27\/2023 Ray Corollary Initiative Board of Directors Meeting<\/strong><br \/>\nProfessor David Allen Larson attended the Ray Corollary Initiative Board of Directors meeting on November 27, 2023.
