While in law school, both Amy and Shireen served as research assistants for Department of Human Services Commissioner Lucinda Jesson, who was then the Director of the Health Law Institute. Amy received certificates from the HLI in Health Law and Health Care Compliance.<\/p>\n<p>Now that they are in practice together, in addition to providing health law counsel and helping clients build a culture of compliance, Amy and Shireen have been active in the health care community. In July, they presented \u201cTrends in Government Enforcement\u201d and \u201cHIPAA Hotbeds\u201d at the Minnesota Hospital Association\u2019s Annual Summer Trustee Conference. For the second year in a row, they will be both be presenting at the Care Providers of Minnesota Annual Convention this fall. Their presentation topics this year are: \u201cHoning Your Hero Skills: Real World Legal and Ethical Compliance Illustrations,\u201d \u201cCornerstone of Compliance: Building a Culture of Quality,\u201d and \u201cAdverse Events: Healing Relationships and Your Reputation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition, they, in conjunction with two physicians, will be presenting a Hennepin County Bar Association CLE titled \u201cBeyond Pulling the Plug: How a meaningful health care directive addresses crucial, yet often overlooked, legal and medical considerations ahead of serious injury and illness.\u201d Both Amy and Shireen are Adjunct Assistant Professors in the M.A. Health and Human Services Administration program at Saint Mary\u2019s University of Minnesota.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amy Holzman and Shireen Gandhi, who both graduated from Hamline University School of Law in 2011, founded JurisHealth, PLLC, (www.jurishealth.com) a law firm focusing on health law and health care compliance.
