Application FormsInventor Information Form Application for Free Legal Assistance
The Upper Midwest Patent Assistance Program works to provide free legal representation to low-income inventors seeking to patent their inventions with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). We work in coordination with the LegalCORPS Inventor Assistance Program.
Independent inventors fuel innovation that can inspire investment and create new businesses and jobs. The process of securing patent protection poses a major hurdle for independent inventors as they try to turn an idea into a commercially viable product.
Who we help
The Upper Midwest Patent Assistance Program allows inventors from Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin to overcome at least one of the financial roadblocks to bringing a new innovation to market.
If you are a resident of another state, follow the USPTO link below to identify the program that serves inventors in your state.
