Health Disparities Among Under-Resourced Communities<\/p>\n
The JPPP\u00a0Symposium brings together experts in health justice, medical practice, and indigenous health care. The Symposium\u2019s goals are to examine the long-standing health care disparities and inequities that continue to face indigenous communities. The program will explore sources of systemic inequities, economic disadvantages, and environmental exposures that prevent individuals and their communities from achieving\u00a0optimal\u00a0health, leading to differences in health outcomes. The program closes with\u00a0<\/span>\u201cpoetic remarks\u201d by Hakim Bellamy,\u00a0a noted poet,\u00a0author, and\u00a0<\/span>national and regional Poetry Slam Champion<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This is an important conversation about health disparities and the systemic social and economic inequities that affect marginalized populations, particularly Native American communities.
