{"id":1720,"date":"2026-04-20T16:21:42","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T21:21:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.edu\/law-journal\/?page_id=1720"},"modified":"2026-04-20T16:25:52","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T21:25:52","slug":"spring-2026-symposium","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.edu\/law-journal\/spring-2026-symposium\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring 2026 Symposium"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>On Friday, April 10,\u00a02026, the Law Journal of Public Policy and Practice, with sponsorship from the MSBA Public Law Section, hosted its annual Spring Symposium focused on\u00a0<strong>Social Connectedness.<\/strong>\u00a0The symposium brought together legal professionals, students, and advocates to explore how law and policy can help build connection.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>Through a mix of keynote-style presentations, applied-topic focused discussions, and a multidisciplinary professional panel, the symposium:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Explored social connectedness as a legal, ethical, and professional value<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Examined how isolation impacts clients, communities, and legal systems<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Highlighted how lawyers and legal institutions serve as social connectors<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Shared practical strategies to build connection centered on access to justice, professional well-being, and community impact<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>For reference, the Symposium included both in\u2011person and virtual participation, with CLE approval for\u00a0<strong>1 standard<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>2 elimination of bias<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>1 wellness<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>1 ethics<\/strong>\u00a0credit.
