It also takes a look at the experiences of <strong>Briana Al Taqatqa &#8217;18<\/strong> and <strong>Brian Kennedy &#8217;18<\/strong>. Al Taqatqa and Kennedy\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.edu\/news\/2017\/07\/07\/mitchell-hamline-a-world-champion-in-international-negotiation-contest\/\">won the International Negotiation Competition<\/a>\u00a0this summer in Oslo, Norway. They were among 16 Hybrid J.D. students who studied on an accelerated path and graduated Jan. 7 after three years instead of four.<\/p>\n<p>Dean Gordon told the Star Tribune that graduating early is one of the advantages of the Hybrid model.\u00a0\u201cWe found that a lot of students just wanted to accelerate,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd the way the program was structured, they were able to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationaljurist.com\/national-jurist-magazine\/first-%E2%80%9Chybrid%E2%80%9D-law-students-graduate-mitchell-hamline\">National Jurist also covered the story of the first Hybrid J.D. program graduates<\/a>. <strong>Cristina Buskohl &#8217;18<\/strong> told National Jurist that Mitchell Hamline&#8217;s program allowed her to earn her J.D. without upending her life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccessibility to legal education is something that affected me,\u201d Buskohl said. \u201cI would not have been able to go to law school and do all the things I was able to do but for this program. I would have had to make a choice.
