Mitchell Hamline student\u00a0Abdisamed Awed<\/strong> is profiled in the April issue of Attorney at Law Magazine’s Minnesota edition.\u00a0You can read the entire article on the magazine’s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n Awed, who goes by AJ, was a toddler when he immigrated with his family to the U.S. to escape civil war in Somalia. Awed hopes to someday return to Somalia after earning his J.D.<\/p>\n \u201cI want to be actively involved in Somalia\u2019s reconstruction,\u201d Awed said in the Attorney at Law profile. \u201cWhether that\u2019s opening up my own company, bringing in investments, working with the government or even the financial sector.\u201d<\/p>\n Now in his second year of law school, Awed is\u00a0focusing on learning the legal side of the business world with a goal of landing a job in commercial arbitration, dispute resolution, or as in-house counsel for a corporation.<\/p>\n In February, Awed and fellow Mitchell Hamline student Susana Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong> earned a third place finish<\/a> in the International Chamber of Commerce Mediation Competition in Paris.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Mitchell Hamline student\u00a0Abdisamed Awed is profiled in the April issue of Attorney at Law Magazine’s Minnesota edition.\u00a0You can read the entire article on the magazine’s website.
