The Mitchell Hamline Law Review has honored two alums for their work on the student-edited legal journal during their time in law school and for the work they\u2019ve done in their careers since.<\/p>\n
Judge Elizabeth Cowan Wright \u201906<\/strong> and Victor Vieth \u201987<\/strong> each received a 2019 Wallace-Lerner Award for Excellence in Leadership during the law review\u2019s annual banquet on Friday, March 29. Click here to see photos of the event.<\/a><\/p>\n The Mitchell Hamline Law Review<\/a> publishes timely articles of regional, national, and international interest for legal practitioners, scholars, and lawmakers.<\/p>\n The Wallace-Lerner Award is a combination of two awards that were handed out by Mitchell Hamline\u2019s predecessor schools. The Marcy Wallace<\/strong> Award was named after the first editor-in-chief of the William Mitchell Law Review, who graduated in 1974. The Gwen Lerner<\/strong> Award was named after the first editor-in-chief of the Hamline Law Review, a 1978 grad.<\/p>\n Judge Wright was sworn in as a U.S. Magistrate Judge on Sept. 4, 2018. Before serving as a judge, she litigated patent cases for the firm Faegre Baker Daniels.<\/p>\n Vieth is the founder and former senior director of National Child Protection Training Center at Gundersen. He’s currently the director of research and education for the Zero Abuse Project at Mitchell Hamline<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
