Update, March 12, 2020<\/h2>\n

In response to health concerns related to COVID-19, Mitchell Hamline School of Law is suspending in-person classes through April 3.<\/strong> There are no known cases of COVID-19 at Mitchell Hamline, but the school is taking this step to help mitigate the effects of the disease on our campus. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and will make decisions for April and beyond as more information becomes available.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Students in Mitchell Hamline\u2019s on-campus programs are currently on spring break. Instead of returning to campus for classes on Monday, March 16, those students will resume classes remotely starting on Wednesday, March 18. Though there will not be classes in the building, the building will remain open for students to use the library and other facilities. The only exception would be students who recently traveled to an area with widespread outbreaks of the disease or who are showing signs of illness. We ask those students to stay at home for 14 days and monitor their health.<\/p>\n

Staff should continue their regular work schedules unless advised otherwise by their manager. Employees are urged to carefully reconsider their non-essential personal travel over the coming weeks. We strongly encourage you to consult the Centers for Disease Control<\/a> for the latest advisories. If an employee has recently traveled to an area of widespread outbreaks or is showing signs of illness, we ask that you self-quarantine at home for 14 days. The same recommendations we issued last week about hand-washing and other healthy practices still apply (see link at bottom of page).<\/p>\n

In addition to students who attend in person, Mitchell Hamline has a significant number of blended-learning students, who study remotely for much of each semester and then come to campus\u2014from locations around the country and world\u2014for a few multiday sessions. We will not be holding those on-campus sessions through April 3. All of those sessions will be conducted synchronously online to the extent practical.<\/p>\n

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we all navigate through this together. While we aren\u2019t able to account for every scenario, we will continue to monitor the situation and communicate changes and answer your questions to the best of our ability.<\/p>\n
