Mitchell Hamline School of Law recently hosted Meet the Employers, a networking event bringing together dozens of employers and alumni and more than 100 law students across all years to develop meaningful connections.<\/p>\n
The 38 employers that attended the open house represented a variety of industries, practice areas, and career opportunities, including law firms large and small, public defenders, county attorneys, health care, military, nonprofits, the judicial branch, and more.<\/p>\n
Sprawling across the first floor of the law school building, Meet the Employers was the largest networking event ever hosted by Mitchell Hamline\u2019s Career and Professional Development office<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe CPD team was excited about the turnout at the event, and the energy both the employers and students created through their connections,\u201d said Amy Klugherz, assistant dean of career and professional development. \u201cThis year\u2019s event more than tripled the participation of recent years, which is a great signal of what this year\u2019s central hiring season can bring for our students.\u201d<\/p>\n CPD, whose mission is to empower students and alumni to maximize their professional potential, aims to introduce students to career opportunities tailored to their individualized goals. Meet the Employers not only allowed students to foster connections, but it also helped them explore career paths in preparation for Mitchell Hamline\u2019s comprehensive recruitment program launching this spring. The Legal Employment Accelerator Program<\/a>, or LEAP, is designed to connect students with legal employers nationwide across all practice settings.<\/p>\n \u201cLEAP offers flexible timelines through cycles in the spring and summer to accommodate students\u2019 unique path through law school,\u201d said Sara Westerberg \u201922, one of CPD\u2019s dedicated career advisors. \u201cWith structured support including networking events, application coaching, mock interviews, and on-campus\/virtual interview coordination, LEAP ensures every student has access to meaningful employment opportunities that match their career goals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\t\t
