\"\"Mitchell Hamline School of Law took to the nation\u2019s capital for a busy trip filled with alumni connections and camaraderie, culminating in a prestigious milestone for 43 members of the law school community: being sworn into the Supreme Court of the United States bar.<\/p>\n

The experiences began with an alumni reception hosted by Trustee David Ransom \u201991 at his law firm, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck. There, more than 50 alumni, staff, faculty, current students, Board of Trustees members, community leaders, and friends of the law school were able to mingle, learn about each other\u2019s experiences, and hear updates on what is happening at Mitchell Hamline.<\/p>\n

The next day brought Mitchell Hamline to the Supreme Court of the United States for the swearing in ceremony. These 43 individuals came from across the nation\u2014from California, Montana, Hawaii, Texas, Maryland, and more. They represent alumni from Mitchell Hamline and both its predecessor institutions, William Mitchell College of Law and Hamline University School of Law, as well as members of the law school\u2019s faculty and staff.<\/p>\n

Mitchell Hamline President and Dean Camille Davidson served as the group sponsor and motioned the court for their admission.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was honored to move this amazing group of alumni into the Supreme Court bar,\u201d said Dean Davidson. \u201cThe group appeared in court before the Supreme Court justices, as Chief Justice Roberts granted the motion, stating that they had met the qualifications for admission. Together they stood to take the oath of admission. I am\u00a0excited to have them join me as fellow members of the Supreme Court bar.\u201d<\/p>\n

As members of the Supreme Court of the United States bar, they will be able to represent clients and argue cases before the nation’s highest court, have access to the Supreme Court library and preferred courtroom seating, and more.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
