Safety, No. 2017-CT-00912-SCT (Miss. 2019)<\/h2>\n<p><strong><strong>Nature of Case: <\/strong><\/strong> Respondent was convicted of a misdemeanor sex offense in Mississippi and was required to register as a sex offender. Thereafter, the Respondent successfully expunged the conviction and sought to cease to have to register as a sex offender. The trial court denied her petition, and the Mississippi Court of Appeals reversed, finding that prior decisions of the Mississippi Supreme Court mandated that her registration term cease.
