JIOP is a full-time (32 hours\/week), six-week <em>minimum<\/em>, summer internship program open to all diverse 1L and 2L students. Applications will open for 2L students on <strong>November 4, 2019<\/strong> and for 1L students on <strong>December 1, 2019<\/strong>. All applications must be submitted by <strong>January 10, 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>JIOP\u2019s mission is to provide opportunities to students who are members of racial and ethnic groups that are traditionally underrepresented in the profession.\u00a0The program also provides opportunities to students with disabilities, women, students who are economically disadvantaged and students who identify as LGBT.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Internships are available in several locations in California, Illinois and Texas, as well as in the following cities: Phoenix, AZ; Washington, D.C.; Miami, FL; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA and Seattle, WA. Students may indicate geographic preferences on their applications but may not request specific judges or courts. Interns elect to receive a one-time $2,000 stipend <em>or<\/em> coordinate with their law school to receive academic credit.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Internships for students with an Intellectual Property law focus will be offered in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Texas and Washington, DC. Students may indicate interest on their application.
