To honor his countless contributions to our legal community, the American Constitution Society (ACS), along with many local and national luminaries, is hosting a virtual tribute to this longtime leader and public servant.<\/p>\n<p>In 1993, President Bill Clinton appointed\u00a0<b>Justice Lillehaug<\/b>\u00a0as the United States Attorney for the District of Minnesota upon the recommendation of the late Senator Paul Wellstone.\u00a0As part of his recommendation for Minnesota&#8217;s chief prosecutor, Senator Wellstone stated the following:\u00a0&#8220;I have met maybe five people in my adult life that have as highly developed a sense of public service as he does. I really believe in him.&#8221;\u00a0<b>Justice Lillehaug<\/b>\u00a0was confirmed unanimously by the Senate and served as U.S. Attorney from 1994 to 1998.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Justice Lillehaug<\/b>\u00a0was appointed by Governor Mark Dayton on March 26, 2013, to serve as an Associate Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court, replacing retiring Justice Paul H. Anderson.\u00a0<b>Justice Lillehaug<\/b>\u00a0retired from the Court on July 31, 2020.<\/p>\n<p><i>This event will feature remarks from<\/i>:<\/p>\n<p><b>Russ Feingold<\/b>, President, ACS<\/p>\n<p><b>Hon.
