The Criminal Justice Defense Externship gives students the opportunity to gain valuable courtroom experience representing real clients in their criminal cases while working at a Public Defender\u2019s office. There are placement opportunities with all of the Public Defender\u2019s offices both in the metro area and in outstate Minnesota.<\/p>\n
Every courthouse and Public Defender\u2019s office has a safety plan that they will follow regarding mask wearing, social distancing, and frequent disinfecting. Given the current order from the Chief Justice, all court appearances (except jury trials) will be occurring remote\/virtually until 2-1-21.<\/p>\n
