The Minnesota Supreme Court is seeking two Mitchell Hamline School of Law students to work as Legal Residents during the Spring Semester 2021. This is an extraordinary opportunity that is available to a small number of Mitchell Hamline students each year.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
During Spring 2021, one Legal Resident will work under the supervision of Justice Anne McKeig. The second Legal Resident will work under the supervision of Justice Paul Thissen. Both positions are full-time and the selected students will work in exchange for academic credit.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u00b7 Student in their final year of law school.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u00b7 Strong academic performance while in law school.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u00b7 Superior research, writing, and analysis skills.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u00b7 Able to work in person or remotely as public health and the policies of the Minnesota Supreme Court allow.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u00b7 Students of diverse backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
The selected students will begin work for the Minnesota Supreme Court in late January timed with the start of the spring semester. Students will be notified whether they have been selected by or before <\/span>Monday, December 21.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Eligible students should apply by emailing the following materials to Professor Leanne Fuith (<\/span>leanne.fuith@mitchellhamline.edu<\/span><\/span>) <\/span>no later than 11:59pm CT on Tuesday, December 1.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u00b7 Cover Letter and a Statement of Interest (these should be combined into one document and the cover letter should be addressed to both Justice McKeig and Justice Thissen).<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

All applications will be reviewed by a committee of Mitchell Hamline faculty and finalists will be forwarded to the Minnesota Supreme Court for review and consideration by Justice McKeig and Justice Thissen. The Justices will conduct interviews (via Zoom) during the first two weeks of December.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
