There are virtual\/remote and in person placements."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are still spots available in the Criminal Justice Defense Externship for students to represent clients in their criminal cases while working at a Public Defender\u2019s office this spring semester. There are placement opportunities with all of the Public Defender\u2019s offices both in the metro area and in outstate Minnesota.<\/p>\n<p>Every courthouse and Public Defender\u2019s office has a safety plan that they will follow regarding mask wearing, social distancing, and frequent disinfecting. Given the current order from the Chief Justice, all court appearances (except jury trials) will be occurring remote\/virtually until 2-1-21.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who is interested or has questions can contact Shawn Webb directly at shawn.webb@hennepin.us or 612-596-7884.
