Women in Tax Forum: Careers in Tax Panel<\/p>\n
Moderated by Nina E. Olson, former United States Taxpayer Advocate and current Executive Director of the Center for Taxpayer Rights, a nonprofit that works to advance taxpayer rights in the United States and internationally. Director Olson is also a member of the American College of Tax Counsel, a senior fellow of the Administrative Conference of the United States, and a member of the supervisory board of the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation Observatory of Taxpayer Rights. She is a recipient of the ABA Tax Section Distinguished Service Award.
\nTameka Lester is a Clinical Associate Professor of Law at Georgia State University College of Law where she teaches Basic Federal Tax, Tax Policy, and clinical courses. Ms. Lester also serves as the Associate Director of the Philip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, sits on the College of Law\u2019s Dean Advisory Committee, and is a faculty senator for the university where she serves on the Budget and Faculty Affairs committees.
\nMary M. Gillum is the Director of the Legal Aid Society\u2019s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, also known as the Tennessee Taxpayer Project. Ms. Gillum is admitted to practice in the United States Tax Court, United States Bankruptcy Court and United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, where she litigates cases each year.<\/p>\n
Women in Tax Forum Anita Soucy serves as Chief Quality Officer of Deloitte Tax LLP and Deputy Chief Risk Officer of Deloitte LLP. Anita leads the firm\u2019s strategic and reputational risk imperatives, crisis management, regulatory affairs, independence, ethics and compliance, as well as confidentiality and privacy programs. \nChristine Speidel is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Federal Tax Clinic at Villanova University\u2019s Charles Widger School of Law, where she teaches students to practice law through representing individuals in federal tax disputes. Ms. Speidel is also a contributor to the Procedurally Taxing blog, an editor of the practice manual Effectively Representing Your Client Before the IRS, and the Assistant Secretary and a past Chair of the ABA Tax Section\u2019s Pro Bono and Tax Clinics Committee.
\nSusan Morgenstern is the Acting Supervisory Attorney for the National Taxpayer Advocate\u2019s Attorney Advisory Group. Ms. Morgenstern has commented frequently in response to IRS and US Tax Court proposed rules and regulations, has written on proposed and current IRS practices and procedures, is the immediate past chairperson of the American Bar Association Section on Taxation\u2019s Pro Bono and Tax Clinics Committee, and is a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel.
