Hamline University\u2019s Center for Justice and Law is continuing\u00a0their Health, Justice, and the Law<\/em> series with a focus on the carceral system and reproductive freedoms:<\/p>\n

Our Spring theme is Reproductive (In)Justice: Birth Behind Bars<\/strong>, and we are excited to announce a partnership with the Ostara Initiative<\/a>, Minnesota Prison Doula Project<\/a>, and Alabama Prison Birth Project<\/a>. We look forward to centering justice-impacted people as we engage cross-sector advocates, practitioners, and policy makers on issues of reproductive justice. Our goal is to provide a platform to share this vital knowledge, bring awareness about the experiences of pregnancy and the birthing year while incarcerated, and provide opportunities for our larger community to get involved. Each of our events will be oriented towards supporting advocacy efforts, such as anti-shackling legislation<\/a>, across the country in coalition with our partners.<\/p>\n

Our final event in this series is taking place on Friday, April 30th<\/strong> from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm. We will be bringing together our partners from across the country for a virtual conference featuring several panels, keynotes, and opportunities for direct action.
