Read on for information about the upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.edu\/careers\/resources-for-students\/recruitment-program\/\"><strong>Summer Recruitment Program<\/strong><\/a> (formerly known as On-Campus Interviews, or OCI), at Mitchell Hamline!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"accordion-wrapper\">\n<h3 class=\"accordion-title\">The Mitchell Hamline Summer Recruitment Program was formerly known as On-Campus Interviews, or OCI. All students are welcome to participate, and are encouraged to read job descriptions posted by individual employers, which set their own hiring criteria.<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"accordion\">\n<li class=\"accordion-item\">\n<h4 class=\"accordion-item-title\">What is the Mitchell Hamline Recruitment Program?<\/h4>\n<div class=\"accordion-item-body\">\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.edu\/careers\/resources-for-students\/recruitment-program\/\"><strong>Mitchell Hamline Recruitment Program<\/strong><\/a> is a process by which:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"default\">\n<li>Employers post school-year, summer, and post-grad job opportunities for Mitchell Hamline students;<\/li>\n<li>Students apply to those jobs prior to a uniform deadline (<strong>the application period will open <u>June 2<\/u> and will close <u>July 13<\/u><\/strong>); and<\/li>\n<li>Employers select candidates to interview during a consolidated timeframe and coordinate those interviews through the Office of Career and Professional Development at Mitchell Hamline. <strong>This summer, interviews will take place virtually between July 26 \u2013 August 13. <\/strong>After this round of interviews, employers will reach out directly to candidates they wish to hire or invite for a second round of interviews.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"accordion-item\">\n<h4 class=\"accordion-item-title\">Sounds interesting. Where can I get more information?<\/h4>\n<div class=\"accordion-item-body\">\n<p>The Recruitment Program will be a competitive process and employers are seeking top candidates. Students interested in participating should set aside some time over the next few weeks to:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"default\">\n<li><b>READ <\/b>the <a href=\"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.edu\/careers\/resources-for-students\/recruitment-program\/\"><strong>Recruitment Program<\/strong><\/a> page on the Career and Professional Development website,<\/li>\n<li><b>WATCH <\/b>this <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mhsl.hosted.panopto.com\/Panopto\/Pages\/Viewer.aspx?id=d8ca1989-d0dd-4307-b305-ad3300ec56f7\">short Nuts &amp; Bolts video<\/a><\/strong> prepared by our office to quickly glean the most important information, and\/or<\/li>\n<li><b>ATTEND <\/b>a LIVE <strong><u>Student Info Session <\/u><\/strong>on June 2, 3-4pm CST via Zoom (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tJAlcOyopjkuEtSvjzBH8o8PFZi1EyPxfx-R\">Register<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tJAlcOyopjkuEtSvjzBH8o8PFZi1EyPxfx-R\"> here<\/a><\/strong>)\n<ol class=\"default\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\"><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"accordion-item\">\n<h4 class=\"accordion-item-title\">When is the Recruitment Program happening in Summer 2021?<\/h4>\n<div class=\"accordion-item-body\">\n<p>Mark your calendar for the following <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">key dates<\/span> (available and updated on the <a href=\"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.edu\/careers\/resources-for-students\/recruitment-program\/\">Recruitment Program<\/a> page):<\/p>\n<p><strong>June 2<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Application period OPENS in Symplicity (you can view the list of participating employers prior to this; on June 2, you can begin applying!)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Student Info Session<\/span> at 3-4pm CST (Virtual): <a href=\"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tJAlcOyopjkuEtSvjzBH8o8PFZi1EyPxfx-R\">Register here to receive the Zoom link<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>June 18<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Deadline to submit resumes, cover letters, and other application materials to Career Counselors for review to ensure timely feedback before application deadline.\u00a0<strong>Note you must have an approved resume and one approved cover letter in Symplicity before you can apply for\u00a0<em>any<\/em> jobs in Symplicity, including those through the Recruitment Program.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>July 7, 8, 12<\/strong> (<em>Times TBD<\/em>):<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Virtual Meet the Employers Reception<\/span>: Students will have the opportunity to sign up in advance for brief, conversational meetings with participating employers throughout July 7, 8, and 12. This is a great opportunity for students to make a first impression with an employer, ask questions, and glean information from attorneys and recruiting staff prior to the application deadline. Students should plan to research employers ahead of time and dress in business attire.<\/p>\n<p><strong>July 13, 11:59pm CST<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Application DEADLINE<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>July 19-21:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students accept interview invitations and sign up for timeslots on Symplicity<\/p>\n<p><strong>July 26:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interviews begin and take place through through mid-August (<em>Virtual<\/em>)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"accordion-item\">\n<h4 class=\"accordion-item-title\">Do I need to sign up or register to participate in the Recruitment Program?<\/h4>\n<div class=\"accordion-item-body\">\n<p>No, however you do need to log in to Symplicity and:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"default\">\n<li><strong><em>Make sure your class-year is up to date. <\/em><\/strong>On the bottom of the left-hand side, go to \u201cMy Account\u201d &gt; \u201cAcademic\u201d and change the class year as needed to reflect your class-year as of August 2021. <u>Please note this important step<\/u>. You will not be able to see the employers interviewing your class year until you make this update!<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Upload an updated, formal legal resume.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Review participating employers, and research those that interest you. <\/em><\/strong>On the left-hand side of the page, click OCI &gt; Scheduling. Employers may be added throughout mid-June, so continue to check this list often. Once you identify employers that interest you, utilize the internet to research them and try to connect with attorneys working in those organizations.
