The scholarship is intended to diversify the pipeline of future litigators in the legal profession.<\/p>\n<p>The student must be 1) a student in their 1L year 2) from an underrepresented group (BIPOC or LGTBQ+) and 3) submit an essay of less than 250 words on why they believe litigation would be an interesting or suitable career.<\/p>\n<p>Mitchell Hamline staff will collect essays and select two finalists for the firm to consider and interview. The recipient will be awarded $5000 by Foley and Mansfield to relieve the financial burden of attending law school.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for essay submission is Friday, September 17, 2021.
