Wilkerson relates caste systems across countries and history to outline eight pillars of caste systems including bloodline, stigma, and more. Through her analysis, she details the consequences of caste systems on culture, politics, and the individuals within them, before pointing to ways America can move past its own caste system to bridge artificial human divisions.

Upcoming meetings:

January 21, 2022: The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander

April 22, 2022: Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates

About The Advocates for Human Rights:

The mission of The Advocates for Human Rights is to implement international human rights standards to promote civil society and reinforce the rule of law.
