This is an extraordinary opportunity that is available to a small number of Mitchell Hamline students each year.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"bi6gxh9e\"><span class=\"d2edcug0 hpfvmrgz qv66sw1b c1et5uql lr9zc1uh jq4qci2q a3bd9o3v b1v8xokw oo9gr5id\">During Spring 2022, one Legal Resident will work under the supervision of Justice Anne McKeig. The second Legal Resident will work under the supervision of Justice Paul Thissen. And the third Legal Resident will work under the supervision of Justice Gordon Moore. All positions are full-time and the selected students will work in exchange for academic credit.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"bi6gxh9e\"><span class=\"d2edcug0 hpfvmrgz qv66sw1b c1et5uql lr9zc1uh jq4qci2q a3bd9o3v b1v8xokw oo9gr5id\">Applicants must meet the following qualifications:<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"bi6gxh9e\"><span class=\"d2edcug0 hpfvmrgz qv66sw1b c1et5uql lr9zc1uh jq4qci2q a3bd9o3v b1v8xokw oo9gr5id\">&#8212; Student in their final year of law school.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"bi6gxh9e\"><span class=\"d2edcug0 hpfvmrgz qv66sw1b c1et5uql lr9zc1uh jq4qci2q a3bd9o3v b1v8xokw oo9gr5id\">&#8212; Strong academic performance while in law school.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"bi6gxh9e\"><span class=\"d2edcug0 hpfvmrgz qv66sw1b c1et5uql lr9zc1uh jq4qci2q a3bd9o3v b1v8xokw oo9gr5id\">&#8212; Superior research, writing, and analysis skills.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"bi6gxh9e\"><span class=\"d2edcug0 hpfvmrgz qv66sw1b c1et5uql lr9zc1uh jq4qci2q a3bd9o3v b1v8xokw oo9gr5id\">&#8212; Legal Residents must be able to work in-person at the courthouse in St. Paul, Minnesota part-time each week during the spring semester; students will also work remotely.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"bi6gxh9e\"><span class=\"d2edcug0 hpfvmrgz qv66sw1b c1et5uql lr9zc1uh jq4qci2q a3bd9o3v b1v8xokw oo9gr5id\">&#8212; Due to Court rules, Legal Residents may not hold other legal employment during the semester in which they work for the Minnesota Supreme Court.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"bi6gxh9e\"><span class=\"d2edcug0 hpfvmrgz qv66sw1b c1et5uql lr9zc1uh jq4qci2q a3bd9o3v b1v8xokw oo9gr5id\">The Justices of the Minnesota Supreme Court strongly encourage students of diverse or historically underrepresented backgrounds to apply.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"bi6gxh9e\"><span class=\"d2edcug0 hpfvmrgz qv66sw1b c1et5uql lr9zc1uh jq4qci2q a3bd9o3v b1v8xokw oo9gr5id\"><strong>Interviews<\/strong>: The Supreme Court will conduct interviews with selected candidates on Wednesday, January 5 from 1:30-3:30pm CT. If you choose to apply, please hold this time open on your calendars. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"bi6gxh9e\"><span class=\"d2edcug0 hpfvmrgz qv66sw1b c1et5uql lr9zc1uh jq4qci2q a3bd9o3v b1v8xokw oo9gr5id\"><strong>Final Notification:<\/strong> The selected students will begin work for the Minnesota Supreme Court in late January timed with the start of the spring semester.
