\nStudent debt disrupts the professional and personal trajectory of more than 80% of those who borrow money for their JD degrees causing them to weigh salary more heavily in job selection or put off major life milestones. New lawyers of color are disproportionately impacted by student debt. Many new lawyers work at lower-paying public sector jobs following graduation and two-thirds of lawyers say they suffer from high or overwhelming stress because of their student debt and their debt often increases after graduating law school.<\/p>\n
