{"id":47331,"date":"2022-10-18T09:25:39","date_gmt":"2022-10-18T14:25:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.edu\/students\/?p=47331"},"modified":"2022-10-18T09:25:54","modified_gmt":"2022-10-18T14:25:54","slug":"federal-student-debt-relief-application","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.edu\/students\/2022\/10\/18\/federal-student-debt-relief-application\/","title":{"rendered":"Federal Student Debt Relief Application"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Federal Student Debt Relief Application<\/h4>\n<p>The Federal Student Debt Relief Application has been posted on the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/\">studentaid.gov<\/a> website and can be accessed via the link below<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/debt-relief\/application\">https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/debt-relief\/application\u00a0<\/a><\/h4>\n<h4>Who qualifies for student debt relief?<\/h4>\n<p>Borrowers are eligible for student loan debt relief if their annual federal income was below $125,000 (individual or married, filing separately) or $250,000 (married, filing jointly or head of household) in 2020 or 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Individuals who earned less than $125,000 in either 2020 or 2021 and married couples or heads of households who made less than $250,000 annually in those years will see up to $10,000 in federal student loan debt forgiven.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, those who qualify income-wise and who received a federal Pell Grant while enrolled in college are eligible for up to $20,000 in debt forgiveness.<\/p>\n<p>Public service workers with at least 10 years of service may also be eligible to have their student loan debt canceled.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>New loans disbursed on or after July 1, 2022, do not qualify for debt relief.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/manage-loans\/forgiveness-cancellation\/debt-relief-info\">https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/manage-loans\/forgiveness-cancellation\/debt-relief-info\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Federal Student Debt Relief Application The Federal Student Debt Relief Application has been posted on the studentaid.gov website and can be accessed via the link below https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/debt-relief\/application\u00a0 Who qualifies for student debt relief?
