Regional rounds typically take place in March &amp; National rounds follow in April.\u00a0 TYLA will be hosted by Mitchell Hamline February 14-18, 2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadline for applications is September 7, 2023<\/strong>.\u00a0 Tryouts will be conducted September 8 &amp; 9 and other dates as necessary.\u00a0 No pre-requisites required.\u00a0 Advocacy class and\/or undergraduate mock trial preferred.<\/p>\n<p>To apply, send an email to Judge Cynthia McCollum <a href=\"mailto:cynthia.mccollum@courts.state.mn.us\">cynthia.mccollum@courts.state.mn.us<\/a> stating: (1)\u00a0 why you would like to tryout for mock trial; (2) any experience in mock trial or theater; and (3) your year and whether you are local or remote\u00a0 by <strong>September 7, 2023.\u00a0 <\/strong>Applicants will then receive a file, which they will use to prepare an opening statement and cross-examination of a witness as part of the try-out process.<\/p>\n<p>There will be two MHSL teams and all travel expenses are covered by MHSL.\u00a0 Students earn credit for participating.\u00a0 Participation is worth two (2) credits per competition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are two mock trial competitions available through Mitchell Hamline: AAJ &amp; TYLA.
