First-year students are invited to three writing workshops presented by the Legal Writing Assistants from the Research and Writing Center and BAM LARC.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This workshop focuses on engaging with the Bluebook. We will go over key rules and signals and give you an opportunity to tab important sections. We will end with a trivia style round of Bluebook citing (with prizes)!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Hard Time Was Had by the Law Students While Their Memos Were Written: An Intro to Using Concise Active Voice, Correct Grammar, and Accurate Punctuation and Syntax in Legal Writing.\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Are you a “wordy” writer? Do you use passive voice or nominalizations frequently? Questions about semicolons or syntax? Let’s talk! This workshop focuses on writing more concisely<\/span>\u2014<\/span>and, therefore, more effectively. We’ll cover some grammar, punctuation, and syntax basics and work through an activity to practice cutting out extraneous words and information.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
