Minnesota Court of Appeals Externship Applications Open for<\/span><\/span>
Spring 2025<\/span><\/span><\/span>
Mitchell Hamline students<\/span><\/span> have the opportunity to<\/span><\/span> apply for an<\/span><\/span>
externship at the Minnesota Court of Appeal<\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span> for the Spring 2025<\/span><\/span>
semester<\/span><\/span> if they:<\/span><\/span><\/span>
(1)<\/span><\/span><\/span> Have c<\/span><\/span>ompleted at least one year<\/span><\/span> of law school<\/span><\/span>;<\/span><\/span><\/span>
(2)<\/span><\/span><\/span> H<\/span><\/span>ave at least a 3.5 GPA or be in the top 15% of their class<\/span><\/span>
and, if they are 2Ls or 3Ls, journal experience<\/span><\/span> is preferred, but not<\/span><\/span>
required;<\/span><\/span><\/span>
(3)<\/span><\/span><\/span> Have<\/span><\/span> daytime hours available<\/span><\/span> to dedicate to the externship<\/span><\/span>;<\/span><\/span>
and<\/span><\/span><\/span>
(4)<\/span><\/span><\/span> Agree<\/span><\/span> not work or<\/span><\/span> volunteer at any legal employer while an<\/span><\/span>
extern at the Minnesota Court of Appeals<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
This is a three<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>credit externship<\/span><\/span> that is open to BAM and Blended<\/span><\/span>
students<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span> Remote options are available.<\/span><\/span> Externs participate in various<\/span><\/span>
court and clerking activities, attend appellate arguments, and are<\/span><\/span>
assigned to an<\/span><\/span> individual<\/span><\/span> judge\u2019s chambers.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
