{"id":2176,"date":"2014-01-28T08:51:15","date_gmt":"2014-01-28T14:51:15","guid":{"rendered":"\/technology\/?page_id=2176"},"modified":"2025-04-28T10:04:57","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T15:04:57","slug":"mitchell-hamline-alert-system","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/mitchellhamline.edu\/technology\/knowledge-base\/mitchell-hamline-alert-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Mitchell Hamline Alert System"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mitchell Hamline School of Law uses a wide range of methods to communicate information with the law school community about campus\u00a0emergencies, the closure of facilities and the campus, and the suspension of operations.<br \/>\n<span id=\"mas\"><\/span><br \/>\nAll students, faculty and staff are encouraged to signup\u00a0to the Campus Emergency Alert system.<\/p>\n<p>Decisions of these types are made in consultation with a range of personnel and departments, depending upon the unique situation at hand. <a href=\"http:\/\/mitchellhamline.edu\/students\/weather-related-campus-closings\/\">More on Weather-related campus closings&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tools used to alert the community of changes include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Campus Emergency Alerts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The law school uses the <strong>Omnilert Emergency Alert system<\/strong> to send timely information to subscribers about class and facility changes due to severe weather, communicate on-campus emergencies, and share information about relevant emergencies within the law school community. The Omnilert Campus Emergency Alert sends subscribers a text, and\/or email (subscribers determine which and how many alert types they wish).<\/p>\n<p><strong>To register for these emergency alerts, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/my.mitchellhamline.edu\/ICS\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">campus portal<\/a>, under the IT tab.<a href=\"https:\/\/agresso.mitchellhamline.edu\/MHSLAlerts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/strong>Students should log in to Student Records and update emergency alert contact info there.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>More info on Omnilert below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>At Mitchell Hamline<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If severe weather leads officials at the law school to decide to cancel classes and\/or suspend normal operations, the information is communicated as an alert on the Mitchell Hamline front page: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mitchellhamline.edu\">mitchellhamline.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>News Outlets<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The law school also uses television and radio stations to communicate information about cancelled classes and suspension of normal operations. This information is shared with and though television and radio.
