Ask students to pair up and negotiate going out to dinner where one person wants to eat Chinese food and the other does not. After they negotiate, show students the communication behaviors pdf and ask them to identify which behaviors they used. Part II: Ask each student to choose one “new” behavior and re-do the exercise using the new behvior. After a debrief, ask the students to choose either “Seek Information (Feelings), Test Understanding, or Build on the ideas of another and try the negotiation one more time. Do a final debrief.
