Jacqueline Perez is from Dallas, Texas. She graduated from the College of St. Benedict and pursued a J.D. degree at Mitchell Hamline where she graduated in 2019. She served in the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office in the child protection division and then adult prosecution division before joining Robins Kaplan. She clerked for Judge Patrick C. Diamond in Minnesota’s Second Judicial District. Jackie is a first-generation college student who is of Mexican descent. During her time at Mitchell Hamline, she worked at the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office as a student attorney, as a law clerk for the Immigration Law Center of Minnesota, as a law clerk for Webber Law Firm, and worked as a student worker at the alumni office at Mitchell Hamline. Jackie participated in the J-term immigration class in 2018 and 2019 where she traveled to immigration detention centers in Texas and helped detainees prepare for their credible fear interviews. She hopes to inspire other young people, especially from low-income backgrounds, to become attorneys and hopes to one day become a judge.
