Marcelo Neblett focuses his practice primarily as an advisory attorney in the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office Civil Division. The county agencies he advises include the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, RCVCET, and the Veteran Services Office. Neblett is the lead attorney for the property tax appeal team in Ramsey County. Additionally, Neblett has assisted with Chapter 13 data practice issues and requests, employment and labor defense, and civil litigation defense too.
Before joining the Civil Division, Neblett spent two years of practice in Ramsey County Child Support unit and a year in the Child Protection unit. Neblett gained insight and skills advocating before the bench and handling complex cases, communicating with pro se parties, and being the child protection/child support liaison attorney when cases would overlap.
Neblett graduated from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, Minn., in 2020. While studying at Mitchell Hamline, Neblett served as the vice president of the Black Law Students’ Association, volunteered for legal services for over 160 hours in a year, and was the recipient of the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers’ Judge William Scott Posten Scholarship.
Neblett earned his bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University in 2017. His time at ASU was filled with volunteering, holding leadership positions in student government, and working for the Office of Equity and Inclusion for ASU.
Outside the practice of law, Neblett enjoys being a dedicated Minnesota Vikings fan, traveling across the U.S. and the world, and spending time with his family and friends.
