Melanie has invested over 25 years in providing companies in the food and beverage supply chain with actionable and practical legal and enterprise risk management solutions on a variety of topics ranging from food laws and regulations, advertising and labeling compliance, intellectual property, corporate contracting, data sharing, pre/post -acquisition due diligence, supplier and co-manufacturing contracting and risk assessment, recall and incident management, and other operational and brand reputation risk management solutions.
Melanie held corporate and food law/food safety related positions with Hormel Foods, the Schwan Food Company, Fredrikson & Byron, RQA, Inc., PricewaterhouseCoopers, Leavitt Partners and The Acheson Group, Neumann Risk Services (subsequently acquired by Matrix Sciences International), and now Neumann Advisory Services.
Melanie is a graduate of Mitchell Hamline Law School with a juris doctor, and Michigan State University with a masters of science in food safety.
