Assistant County Attorney, Ramsey County Attorney's Office
Nicole M. Harris was born and raised in New Jersey. At a young age, she set her educational sights on attending Spelman College in Atlanta. That dream came to fruition, and Nicole majored in political science and focused her studies on the school’s pre-law track at Spelman. She worked at a boutique real estate law firm before starting at Mitchell Hamline. She gained practical experience while focusing on and completing her studies in health law and health care compliance—obtaining certificates in both areas of law. Nicole graduated from Mitchell Hamline in 2019, then clerked for Judge JaPaul Harris in Minnesota’s Second Judicial District. She is an assistant county attorney for the Office of the Ramsey County Attorney where she works in the trial division. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with loved ones, exploring the twin cities, and knitting.
Nicole believes in approaching the bar exam holistically. She believes that preparation for the exam should not be solely focused on substantive knowledge but also incorporating mindfulness through positive affirmations and integrating other outlets that may help reduce stress while preparing. She wants to help Mitchell Hamline students succeed in taking the bar exam because as a woman of color she understands the unique challenges that students may face who come from underrepresented backgrounds.
