Assistant General Counsel, 3M
Bill Childs is assistant general counsel for litigation at 3M, where he oversees a wide range of litigation matters. He previously spent twelve years in private practice at Williams & Connolly and Bowman & Brooke. He was also on the faculty at Western New England University School of Law for eight years, serving as a professor of law and associate dean for external affairs. He taught Torts, Products Liability, and other courses, and published in a range of areas, including the intersection of law and science.
He graduated from Macalester College and the University of Texas School of Law with high honors. In addition to his legal career, he produces and hosts a radio show for kids and their grownups (sparetherock.com) and owns a related record label that has generated over $200,000 in donations to It Gets Better, the Haitian People’s Support Project, and Girls Inc.
