Assistant Teaching Professor
Brandon Robb teaches Legal Analysis, Research, and Communication. Prior to joining the faculty of Mitchell Hamline, Brandon practiced in Florida and Louisiana in the area of estate planning and probate and has been actively involved in advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community.
He is a founding partner in the firm of Bender & Robb in Miami, and prior to beginning practice in Florida, Brandon was a founding partner of Delaney, Robb & Rubin in New Orleans, which was the first law firm in Louisiana dedicated to the unique legal needs of the LGBTQ+ community, including property disputes and employment discrimination and where he made multiple local and national media appearances to discuss issues facing the LGBTQ+ community and developments in the law. Before that firm’s founding, Brandon worked as an associate at the firm of Sessions, Fishman, Nathan & Israel in New Orleans.
Brandon earned his juris doctor magna cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2008, graduating in the top five percent of his class. While there, he was on the editorial board of the Loyola Law Review and was the brief writer for Loyola’s international environmental moot court team, which won the world championship in 2007.
Throughout his years of law practice, Brandon has been actively involved in the professional development of colleagues in a variety of ways, including presenting continuing legal education courses and participating in many discussion panels before practicing attorneys as well as law students.
Brandon’s scholarly writings include “Making the Electoral College Work Today: The Agreement Among the States to Elect the President by National Popular Vote,” published in the Loyola Law Review in 2008, and “Roe Revitalized: The Supreme Court Sharpens ‘Undue Burden’ Analysis,” published in the American Bar Association Access to Justice Newsletter in 2016.
Brandon and his husband, Jared, have one son.
